If you cannot tell, I am just a little excited that hunting season will start in just 6 short weeks! I walked out of the house this morning and it was cool compared to lately and felt good, made me start thinking of fall and hunting season. With just 6 short weeks until hunting season, I am gearing up strong, i'll start shooting my bow more often to continue to refine my shooting skills, and help my muscles out all at the same time. I am currently in the process of working on a fall food plot which is something I haven't done before, so I will keep everyone posted on how that works out. But I should remind everyone planting food plots in the heat of the summer with minimal equipment is not fun at all.... I have also started putting mineral blocks out and trail cameras (much easier!). This is always an exciting time as you can start to catch the those bucks in their summer patterns and get great pictures of them. Of course that is only if you are lucky enough to find a location for your camera that has bucks in the area and then lucky enough to catch one of them passing within range of the camera. In a way it's just like hunting, only it is there 24/7 and you don't have to be.
So far I only have 2 cameras out and they have not caught too much of interest, some foxes, a raccoon, several does, and one small buck. Below are a couple of those pictures.
Hopefully everyone else is as excited as I am that hunting season is just 6 weeks away.
Anyone else seen any good bucks while out driving or scouting, or even got trail cam photos? We would love to hear from you!
