Part two of the 2012 Summit overview, the non-climbing stands. Below are listed all of the 2012 Summit non-climbing treestands. This concludes our Summit overview for the year. Hope this helps if you are in the market for a new treestand before the upcoming season!
This stand is one of the eight new stands from the Crush Series stands from Summit. The Solo Pro is a roomy single person ladder stand. It has a wide seat to keep you comfortable on an all day hunt. It also features a padded gun rest. The stand weighs in at 77lbs and has a 300lb weight capacity. It has a 14.5' from ground to platform height and it retails around $169.99.
Overall, it looks like a good roomy gun hunting ladder stand
The Dual Pro is the largest of the Crush Series. It is the double version of the Solo Pro and looks similar plus it adds some room for a buddy. The Dual Pro offers a full width gun rest for you and your hunting buddy. The stand weighs in at 87lbs and has a 350lb (Single User) or 250lb x 2 (Double Users). It is 14.5' from to platform height and retails around $199.99.
Overall, it looks like a great two person ladder stand. I think this would be a great ladder stand to take a youth out hunting either with a gun or crossbow. The gun rest would allow them to have somewhere to elevate the weight of a gun or crossbow that a lot of youth struggle with holding for extended periods of time. All around it looks like a comfortable, well-made buddy stand.
The Solo Performer is another stand in the Crush Series from Summit. This is the most budget friendly, single man stand in the Crush Series. Coming in at just $99.99 for your basic comfortable ladder stand. It weighs just 40lbs and has a 300lb weight capacity. It has the standard 14.5' ground to platform height. This stand was built to be budget friendly for someone looking for an open view ladder stand.
I think this is a great basic ladder stand for the bow hunter that wants both a light weight and budget friendly stand.
The Solo Deluxe stand is the middle of the road single man ladder stand of the Crush Series. It is a slight upgrade from the Solo Performer. It features everything the Solo Performer does plus it has a footrest, padded backrest, armrests, and a padded shooting rail. The stand is still light weight and easy to transport at just 45lbs. It also has a 300lbs capacity and a 14.5' ground to platform height. This stand retails around $119.99
This is a great single man ladder stand with some great features for a awesome price, all around a good choice for someone looking for ladder stand with a gun rest that won't break your back or your bank.
The Dual Performer is the perfect two man ladder stand. It features a padded seat, backrest, and full width gun rest. At just 63lbs, it is still lightweight and priced around $179.99 so it is budget friendly as well. It has a 350lb (Single User) or 250lb x 2 (Dual User) weight capacity and the standard 14.5' ground to platform height.
All around the Dual Performer looks like a good buddy stand that is comfortable, price friendly and of course has all the design details that Summit is so well known for.
The Single Shot Ladder Stand is built to last. It boasts an over built construction with an extra heavy duty, thick steel that will never let you down. A thick padded seat for comfort, and all Summit Ladder Stands come with a 4 point fall arrest system, removable bench seat, safety / instructional DVD, 3 stand ratchet straps , written instruction, and a 5 year limited warranty.
Single Shot Magnum Ladder Stand
The Single Shot Magnum is very similar to the Single Shot only it offers more room! Actually, 50 percent more room to be exact. It offers the same great construction and the thick padded seat for your comfort. The Single Shot Magnum also comes with a 4 point fall arrest system, removable bench seat, safety / instructional DVD, 3 stand ratchet straps, written instruction, and a 5 year limited warranty.
The Double Barrel Ladder Stand is the next step up from Single Shot Magnum it allows you to take a buddy. The Double Barrel is twice the size of the Single Shot and it is the biggest stand that Summit makes. It is great for every hunter that wants to take a friend or family member with them, or someone who just wants a little more room to themselves. It offers all the other great features as the Single Shot and the Single Shot Magnum. It also comes with a 4 point fall arrest system, removable bench seat, safety / instructional DVD, 3 stand ratchet straps, written instruction, and a 5 year limited warranty.
The Perch is Summit's entry level hang-on stand that is part of the Crush Series. It offers a folding frame design for easy transport. A padded seat and an easy attachment method. The stand weighs in at just 16lbs, has a 300lb weight capacity and is priced at just $69.99.
Overall, its a great entry level hang-on stand that gives you a stand that is lightweight, affordable, and comfortable all put together.
The Stoop is the middle hang-on stand in the Crush Series. It has all of the same features as the Perch including: a padded seat, folding frame, and easy attachment method. The added feature to this stand over the Perch is that it has a bigger platform with a platform size of 25" x 25" versus the Perch with a 18" wide x 22" long. It weights just 18lbs and has a 300lb weight capacity. The Stoop retails for around 79.99.
The Stoop is a larger platform version of the Perch, and for those of us like me who like some extra foot room, the difference of 2lbs and $10 is well worth the extra room for those long days in the woods.
The Ledge is the top of the line hang-on stand in the Crush Series. The ledge is also the largest of the Crush Series hang-on stands. It has the same great features as the other Crush Series hang-on stands like the folding frame design for easy transport, a padded seat and an easy to use attachment method. The added features are the bigger platform at 25" wide x 34 1/2" long, and an added footrest to make you even more comfortable. It weighs in at just 22lbs with the 300lb weight capacity. This stand retails for around $99.99.
The Ledge is clearly designed for comfort and room on those long hunting days. If you do not mind the added weight and a little extra cos,t the added footrest and extra long platform are probably well worth it on those long days in the woods.
Summit rsxEagle Hang-On Treestand
The rsxEagle Hang-On Stand is part of Summit’s Raptor Series. The rsxEagle is the world’s most comfortable Hang-On according to Summit’s website. It offers a padded seat with 3 inches of padding for all day comfort. The rsxEagle also uses Summit’s Talon bracket system to making hanging the stand very easy. All around, the rsxEagle sounds like a very comfortable easy to use hang-on stand.
The rsxOsprey offers all the same great features as the rsxHawk, only it is built out of steel allowing it be a more affordable option for those looking to not spend a lot of money. The rsxOsprey uses Summit’s Talon Bracket System, and is quickly adjustable for leveling the platform. All around great choice if you want a hang-on that does not break your bank.
The Summit Trophy Chair has been around for 14 years. The Trophy Chair is designed based on comfort, with a large padded seat, padded arm rests and easy setup; this makes the Summit Trophy Chair the best tree seat on the market in my opinion. The seat is great for deer, turkey, and duck hunting, as well as just a comfortable chair for camping. I highly recommend this seat; I can tell you after hours on a cheaper round swivel seat, I sure would have loved to have the comfort of the Trophy Chair. The Trophy Chair is priced a little bit higher than other tree seats. However, the added comfort is well worth the extra money!
Now that I have given you the run down on all of the 2012 Summit treestands, I thought I would give you just a little more information. Summit also offers a full line of very nice safety harnesses. They are the Seat-O-The-Pants Harness line, safety should always be your first concern and these harnesses offer both safety and comfort all in one. So, the next time you are in the market for any type of treestand, check out Summit Treestands and consider giving one of their models a chance next time you head out into the woods.
